Starlink Transition to Streaming TV

Starlink, an old TV product a few Siyeh Communications’ customers still have, will be shut down on December 31, 2023. Less than 100 customers were on the service, and those customers were notified in September. The service is being discontinued because the equipment used to provide that service is no longer viable and is past the end of its usable life. The Starlink TV product will be shutdown on or before December 31, 2023.

What will you need to stream TV for free?

  1. Internet which is a service SiyCom provides starting at $49.95 per month. If you qualify for the FCC's Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP), you can get up to $75 per month (non-refundable) if you reside on Tribal land towards your internet bill.

  2. A Smart TV that can access the WIFI and can download apps like HULU, NETFLIX, Amazon Prime, FreVee and others . . . OR

  3. A TV with an HDMI port with a Streaming Device like an Amazon Firestick, which we carry and offer for a one-time charge of $25.00.

If you do buy a Firestick from us, you will need an Amazon account to use it. If you don't already have one, you will then need an email account. Firestick offers free movies and TV streaming services that include Tubi, Plex, Pluto TV and Xumi. These services are easy to use and you can start streaming straight away. The catch is they're often ad-based.

What will you need if you want to access Local Networks?

  1. If local channels like KRTV, KTGF, KFBB or SWX MT are a must, you will also need a credit card to pay for a streaming service that provides these channels at a monthly rate.

  2. There are affordable apps that carry single networks like KTGF-NBC on Peacock Premium Plus or KRTV CBS on Paramount+. There are no single network services for KFBB ABC or FOX. Peacock & Paramount+ premium services are $11.99 each and include ad free movies and other content and channels.

  3. Are cable channels important to you like AMC, TLC, Lifetime, MTV, NatGeo, Discovery, ESPN, plus others you are accustomed to watching on Starlink Cable? You can stream them plus more, minus the local networks w/PHILO or SLING TV starting at $25/month.

  4. There are apps like YouTube TV, HULU Plus Live, DIRECTV Stream, & FuboTV that offer it all, plus most or all of the local networks listed above. These services average $70 to $75 a month. You can ad on Premium channels like HBO, Starz, Showtime etc for an extra cost or subscribe to their own app.

Let’s do the math:

Starlink Cable was $55 a month

If you want to stay under $55 a month you could get

  • PHILO- $25 (125 channels) then ad on

  • Peacock- $11.99 (KTGF NBC, Hallmark, plus 11 more channels)

  • That's a total of $36.99 (but only one local network NBC)

  • Add on Paramount+ for another $11.99 (includes KRTV CBS, Showtime and 11 chan) That's a total of $48.98 for almost 150 channels!

  • But you don't get your local ABC or FOX

If those channels are a must you can get it all with .....

  • YOUTUBE TV at $72.99 a month

  • FUBO Pro $74.99

  • HULU + LIVE TV $76.99 a month (includes hulu, Disney+ and ESPN+)

  • DIRECTV Stream $79.99 month

You cut the cable cord, you can also cut the bill to $0

If you subscribe to Siyeh Communications GOLD package at $74.99 per month and qualify for the Affordable Connectivity Program, you get $75.00 off your internet bill if you live on Tribal Lands. There are so many free streaming apps and channels, there is no need to pay for TV anymore.
